Assignment Final Presentation:

I intend to use Microsoft Office Publisher with my students, as well as for my own use in the classroom. For students, I would teach them to use the program to create a personalized birthday card for their classmates. I always have students write a five sentence "birthday wish" for the student with the birthday. Now I will have them type this wish up into their card after they have written it. They will also be expected to put at least one picture on the birthday card, either from clip art or the internet. On the back of the card, they will be expected to include a reference for any pictures used. It is up to the student what color schemes and fonts to use, but they must keep in mind the interests of the student with the birthday when making their card.

For my own personal use, I intend to create a newsletter to go home each week with the students. It will include a brief article about things going on in the classroom, as well as a picture. The newsletter will also tell parents about their assignments, quizzes, tests, and upcoming events. It will include my contact information so that parents should always have it readily accessible if they need to contact me for any reason. I feel that this will help me to have better communication with parents and vice-versa by keeping them constantly informed of what is going on in the classroom.
