My students are required to sign the attached forms before a predetermined date by the district. However, I have my student's parents sign a release form for me. This additional form of mine explains how we will use the internet in class projects for the year and parents give permission for me to take pictures as well. While this may seem over kill it allows me to keep this paperwork in my possession since I travel between two different disticts. I am also not always informed as to which of my students did not hand in their form.

In most cases, students sign the form without truely reading it or comprehending it.  The major problem is when a student does not follow the policy , the district does not always follow the punishment, and thus the problem.

 

I do feel the districts need to follow what the state and federal laws mandate  so that students and parents clearly understand the seriousness of their decisions. Unfortunately, if we do not teach students that their choices have consequences when they enter the business world they are at a disadvantage. My son is, as an 18 year old, learning that what you say or joke about has an effect on your job. He is watching this process unfold at his place of work with supervisors. For my husband and I, it was an "a ha" moment when we realized our son finally understood we did know what we are talking about.

Final project

 

My final project centers on information for parents who wish to know what the program centers on, my viewpoints and general information. The first page is a welcome and a brief description of Blast IU #17. The second page focuses on my viewpoints and any general information about myself. The final page goes into my schedule for the coming school year, the projects which we will be working on and the websites associated with the projects. Each page is linked to each other and can be found on the IU's website. The attached file on page three explains the schools that are participating in the Enterprise project.
