Dan's Math Podcast

http://www.dansmath.com/pages/podpage.html

  • Video podcast or audio podcast? audio
  • Average length of podcast? average length appears to be about 25 minutes
  • Authors of podcast? Daniel Bach, a college professor and a man who has memorized about 100 digits of pi
  • Your purpose for choosing the podcast? Dan offers a wide variety of math stuff in his podcast. I enjoy his problem of the week and his joke of the week.
  • Any other comments you would like to include Can you believe that Dan and I both have pi pages?? Well, as soon as I finish my Fibonacci page, I'll have one up on Dan. Oh no! I just discovered that Dan has one of those also!! Rats! However, he does not have an animated GIF on his!

    The Math Dude

    http://www.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/departments/itv/mathdude/MD_Podcasts.shtm

  • Video podcast or audio podcast? video
  • Average length of podcast? about 6 to 7 minutes
  • Authors of podcast? The Math Dude = Mike DeGraba
  • Your purpose for choosing the podcast? This podcast is very useful for students. The Math Dude briefly explains short mathematical concepts with both audio and visual aids.
  • Any other comments you would like to include Mr. Tavani, you probably thought that you were the "Math Dude".

    Maths in Motion
  • Video podcast or audio podcast? video
  • Average length of podcast? times of each podcast are not listed, but the few that I watched were all less than ten minutes
  • Authors of podcast? not sure...possibly Millthorpe_Maths
  • Your purpose for choosing the podcast? I chose this podcast, in part, because it has age-appropriate mathematical content for the subjects I teach. I also chose this podcast because it is really hard to find math podcasts for middle school/high school students or about middle school/high school topics. Plus, there are several podcasts blocked at school.
  • Any other comments you would like to include One episode has a character named James "Mr. Smith" Bond. There is also an episode that ponders the question: Will Mr. Smith be hired or fired?
