Assignement #1: Excel
Assignement One.xls
The purpose of this spreadsheet is for students to monitor and organize their 25 Book Reading Log. Students are required to read 1250 pages by the end of the school year. The reading requirement is broken down into benchmarks for each marking period. After the student reads a book they will be instructed to add to add it to their list. The teacher will teach them how to insert the correct function to keep a running total of the pages read per marking period. Also, there will be a function cell for the students to keep a total of the pages left to read for the year. This way the students will know how many pages are read each marking period and how many more pages they need to read for the school year.
Assignment #2: Powerpoint
Presentation JGP.ppt
This PowerPoint Presentation is a quiz that can be taken interactively by the students. First, the students and the teacher discuss the characters. Then the students can take a quiz through the PP presentation. Students are sent back to the question slide if they get the answer incorrect, and are prompted to the next question slide if they get the answer correct.
Assignment # 3: Virtual Tour
http://www.titanicmovie.com/past/tour_index.html
This website, showing a virtual tour the Titanic, could be used when teaching about 1900s History. The teacher could show the students the virtual tour as a whole class, or have them each look at the website and take the virtual tour. The tour is short, so the students would not have to take a long time – maybe 10 or 15 minutes. By having students go through the virtual tour, their understanding should be enhanced by virtually touring the inside of the ship, as if they had been there.
Assignment # 4: Webquest

Assignement #5: Inspiration
Adjectives.rtf
I was able to download the Kidspiration 3, which is created for learners K-5. This program has lots of ways for students to better understand what they are learning. Teachers can develop graphic organizers or students can go in the program and develop their own. I focused on a graphic organizer about adjectives. If I were to use this program in my classroom, I would first talk about what an adjective is. Then I would model some ways for students to come up with their own adjectives describing a noun. Before I would have them go in the Kidspiration program and create their own graphic organizer, I would show them what I expected from them by showing them one that I created. After the students have created their own adjective graphic organizer, I would have them switch to writing view and use the adjectives in sentences. Lastly, the students would be instructed to print their graphic organizer and sentences.

Assignment #6: Chatroom
Option 1: I think that students would love to use a chat room to review for a test. It would be hard to assign the chatting to be done at home because of computer usage. The teacher could take a poll in the beginning of class to see how many students that would effect. I still have questions concerning the use of chat rooms. How does the teacher moderate? How do you set up the chat room? Did I have to do more than just inserting the plug in?
