Assignment 2:  I have attached a short quiz for Act 2 Macbeth with several hyperlinks.  My plan is to have a completed power point quiz available the day before the Act 2 test so students can review for the test in groups of three. This format provides positive reinforcement for correct answers, as well as feedback for incorrect answers.

A link to my School Wires page for your information.

Assignment 3:  As part of our studies on Shakespeare we will review the theatre William Shakespeare designed.  The link to the Elizabethan Theatre gives a detailed look at the Shakespearean-designed theatres through a virtual tour.  This will be used during my lecture about The Globe.  Students will have laptops and all will take fifteen minutes to use the site.  The site gives an in-depth look at Shakespeare's work and theatre, and I intend to incorporate information and attributes from the tour into a quiz.

Assignment 7:  Chat Room -

I have added a Gabbly chat  link to my school wires page.  The plan is to provide the students with a means of communication with me for homework questions.  It will also allow a forum for students to interact with each other while reading novels, or writing joint papers.  The benefits include a way to directly interact with me as well as their peers to improve their knowledge of the subject matter.  Potential downfalls would be that they use the page to instant message each other for social purposes only.  Also, I would need to ensure only educational information is being exchanged.  Initially, I will be using the chat as an extra credit assignment to encourage its use.

Assignment 8: Blogs in the classroom http://blasipoetry.21classes.com/

I'd have to be almost dead not to see the appeal of using blogs in the classroom.  After all, I am an English teacher.  Yes, that does include an insane proclivity towards forming outlines and continual research.  With that said, I am pleased to launch the new blog site that I will use in my after school club, the Poetry Club.  What a wonderful way for students to share their poetry, receive positive feedback from their peers and from their instructor, and combine the technological edge with an educational bonus.  Therefore, since I see mainly positive advantages, I will be using this in my classroom.  If it works well with the Poetry Club, I will extend it to all of my other classes.
