Lesson Plans:  These lessons introduce five technologies we can use as educational tools in our classrooms.

1. After defining and demonstrating a sample podcast, my students will be given the opportunity to do research on a designated topic using 2 podcasts as resources that are both visual and auditory.  Each student will be required to identify the site and location of each podacast and list at least 4 facts gathered from each. 

2.  The class will be introduced to a variety of on-line collaborative tools like wiki, think-free, Google Docs and Spreadsheets.  Using these collaborative tools each student will incorporate information collected and organized on a spreadsheet in an informational document.

3.  I will demonstrate the manual method of creating a web as a pre-writing technique for a narrative writing.  We will then each create a web for a personal narrative with between 6 and 10 entries.  Finally, we will use Inspiration8 or a similar program to learn how technology can be used to create a similar document.  This is an active lesson involving Semantic Networking.

4. Students will create an autobiographical presentation using powerpoint.  When the slides are completed and text is included, we will introduce personal photos taken with a digital camera.  Students may include musical background as a follow-up acitivity.

5.  I will demonstrate Virtual Technologies by taking the class on a tour of The White House in Washington DC.  After demonstrating what can be observed during this off-site tour, students will surf the net finding examples of virtual technologies available on the net.  We will also discuss the use of Virtual Technologies that are not net related.
