Donna EDUC 464

Once again, Clinton is trying to improve my technology skills.

It is a slow, laborious process, but he is a very patient teacher!

Lesson Plans

Podcasts could be used to have students teach various procedures in the science lab, such as streak plating or gram staining. Podcasts could also be used for students to share information on historical figures in Microbiology or Genetics or Chemistry, etc.

Inspiration could be used by students to diagram key concepts, such as protein synthesis.

                     Protein Synthesis Inspiration.isf

Expert Systems could be used for review. Students could make up an expert system using non-sequential power point. These could then be shared on a class Wiki page.

Virtual dissections can be used prior to the actual dissections performed in the Anatomy classes. This would not only give the students an idea of what different body systems and organs look like, but it would also give them a chance to read through the lab directions completely before doing the actual dissection. This is a tool that could be used for those students opposed to "real" dissections.

Virtual field trips could be used when studying water treatment. Students could take a virtual tour a water treatment plant without cost to the district.

Turning Point could be used as a review technique and/or for quizzes on any of the subject matter covered in the classroom. The immediacy of the feedback to the students, and the information immediately available to the teacher from this technology, makes for easier reteaching and planning.
