 Day 1:

 

 

Google Docs Response:  This was a part of Google that I have never used before.  With Google Docs you can import your existing documents, spreadsheets and presentations, or create new ones from scratch.  In class today we created a document using the word processor.   It worked OK, but seemed to have its quirks.  This is a good feature on Google for someone who does not want to purchase Microsoft Office.  

 

We also created a del.icio.us account.  I have seen this tool before and I have never used it.  I will try to use it more in the future.  The following link was created by our group:

Day 2: 

 

Today we learned about what a Wiki page is and how to enter information.  The following are examples of some of my favorite class members Wiki pages:

Day 3:

 

Today in class we learned about the various types of Microsoft templates that are available in the program, and also online.  We also discussed the the advantages of using Microsoft Publisher.  I created the following Open House Flyer using Microsoft Publisher:

Later that morning Clinton showed us how to copy/paste clipart from the internet into PAINT and add text.  The following is the example that I created using this PAINT feature:

Day 4:  Final Project

 

 

 

 

 

 

Vision Software

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Advantages:

 

 

• Montior student computers and keep an eye on student progress.
• Demonstrate on the teacher's screen to entire classroom.
• Block web browsing for one studentor entire class.
• Control students by locking student's keyboards, mice, and blanking screens during discussion.
• Help students right from the teacher's desk or take control of their computer for demostration.
• Shut down entire lab from teacher's desk.

 

 

 

Disadvantages:

 

• Cost  (Select Link for Current Costs)
• Have to pay extra for additional features in Vision. 
• Have to take time to learn this system during busy day. 
• No one-on-one personal help with the student
• One more chance for the computers in your lab to not run properly.  May slow down the network.
•  Make teacher lazy and will probably gain additional weight!
