2/9/09: Thanks to everybody for their patience with my slow responses over the last couple of days. We were away for the weekend and I have just now updated by grade book. IF YOU RECEIVE AN EMAIL FROM ME DATED TODAY, YOU STILL OWE ME THE WORK I MENTION IN THE EMAIL. IF YOU DO NOT RECEIVE AN EMAIL FROM ME DATED TODAY (THE 9TH), YOU ARE UP TO DATE. Please remember to have pictures ready to edit on Thursday night of this week.
2/3/09: The assignments people have been submitting have been great! Remember that we are meeting in person on the 12th of February. For that meeting, please make sure you have some digital pictures that you can edit for your projects. I would suggest having them on a flash drive or online somewhere that you can access them.
Assignments
Google Docs (pdf)- due 1/29/09 by 11 pm
Using Google Docs, create a pdf file containing information for your theme for the semester. Suggestions for this file include directions for your students for the upcoming project, information for parents concerning the project, background information on a particular section of information on the topic, or any combination thereof. You are not limited to these suggestions as long as your product starts you toward your goal of a lesson or unit of information based on technology.
Please make sure that you save your document in google docs as a pdf file. In other words, if you create your document from scratch or upload an existing document, perform the following steps:
1. Check the box to the left of the file name.
2. Click on the More actions button.
3. Click on Save as PDF
4. Click Save to get the file on your computer.
5. Email the file that is saved as an attachment.
Google Docs (presentation)- due 2/5/09 by 11 pm
Remeber that we are building a project that is part of a theme. Using Google Docs, create a presentation that will be used in your theme for the semester. Like last week's assignment, there is a great amount of flexibility with the content of the presentation. It can be an informational presentation that you are going to present to students. It can be a model for students to follow as you might want the students to create a presentation. It can be anything that you need it to be as long as it is part of the theme.
1. Work in Google Docs by creating a new presentation.
2. Add as much information as you need to include. There are not any real minimum requirements except that you should have at least 8 slides.
3. Save your work on Google Docs.
4. Share the file with me (using the email address listed on the syllabus) by adding me as a viewer or collaborator.
