Podcasting - Podcasting is an excellent way to introduce technology into the classroom. Lessons can be put together using PowerPoint or other various programs and then integrated with audio and video creating the ultimate learning experience for today's youth.
PowerPoint - PowerPoint continues to be the leader in classroom instruction. Most educators are comfortable with using PowerPoint and manipulating it. PowerPoint can be used in a variety of ways introducing new material or certainly reviewing the old. Students have also become comfortable using PowerPoint and enjoy using it themselves when asked to convey information from a project. Students learn quicker than adults when it comes to this type of technology.
Turning Point - This is great when reviewing with students and is a great resource for teachers to have when wanting to evaluate their students learning as a whole. With the use of this type of program each student can remain anonymous and not experience the embarrassment of raising their hand and answering the wrong question. I have seen this program used in the classroom and I am very impressed with its uses.
Spreadsheets - Microsoft excel is excellent when creating charts and graphs. Graphing is a math standard that has become more visible in the past decade making Microsoft excel a necessary component in the classroom setting. Students are able to obtain data and enter into the spreadsheet and are able to create a plethora of graphs using several different colors.
Inspiration - Inspiration is concept mapping software which lets students create concept maps and spider webs using technology. When students are able to use technology I believe that it take sthe initial sting out of doing classwork. Students enjoy using this program and are certainly thier own author when creating.
