Which of the three do you find best? Why?

1. place value
2. about 384,000,000
3. 9 out of the 10 appear to be useful. One was a link to an economy hotel chain, which might also in a sense be useful.
4. http://www.aaaknow.com/plc.htm (Contains short lessons on different aspects of place value. You can sort place value by grade.)
http://www.funbrain.com/tens/index.html (Game for students to practice their place value skills.)

5. I refined my search by having the engine search for results that contained the exazct phrase "3rd grade"
6. There are now about 241,000 results for my refined search. The reults were more appropriate for my grade level.

1. place value
2. about 206,000,000
3. All 10 seem to be useful as there were no links to hotels on this engine.
4. http://education.jlab.org/placevalue/index.html (Game for students, could be a bit difficult)
http://www.linkslearning.org/Kids/1_Math/2_Illustrated_Lessons/3_Place_Value/index.html (contains videos and lessons about place value)

1. place value
2. 49,620,000
3. 9 out of 10 seem to be useful. There was a link to a wikipedia entry on place value, which would not benefit a third grade classroom.
4. http://literacy.kent.edu/Minigrants/Cinci/numberex.html (Cool place value chart.)
http://www.edhelper.com/place_value.htm (Leveled worksheets on place value.)
http://www.quia.com/mc/279741.html (Cool place value matching game.)
5. I refined my search by having the engine search for results that contained the exazct phrase "3rd grade"
6. There were about 48,600 results for my refined search. The results were less helpful than the basic search.
Summary
7. I liked Google, due to the fact that it keeps things simple. I don't want to be redirected by ads or extranious links. Yahoo was nice because if you are bored and looking for something to keep your attention, it has plenty of services to keep you busy. I really didn't find much use for Ask.com.
8. The results for Yahoo, and Google were very similar, Ask strayed fromthe flock a little.
9. I found google the best as a search engine. It searches for what you want easily without any distracting services or automatic wikipedia links.
