LESSON PLANS
Kidspiration- I would like to use Kidspiration for reading and writing especially. I would use the web for the student's ideas for writing their story. The student puts the subject they are writing about in the main bubble. Each word or idea would than be put onto the connecting bubbles. This would create a web of their ideas and from this web the student will write their story.A web could also be used in reading for a story map or sequencing a story.
Virtual Tours-I would use this for going to places a student could not or may not be able to visit themselves. This also could be used for science. I would go to the History Channel or the Discovery Channel. I would find the virtual tour that would fit the subject and and let two or three students at a time work on the computer. I could also project it through my TV for the whole class to watch. One place we would visit is Plymouth Plantation while we were studying the Pilgrims. history channel
Podcasting- I would use this for teaching specific skills. These are little mini-lessons for these skills. See above podcasting for an example on teaching working for words. teacher tube Another example would be a lesson on writing a story. You could show them the steps to writing a story. Podcasts on the writing process; prewriting, writing the story, editing, and final copy.
Spreadsheets-This can be used for making practice time tests for math facts. Type the facts you want the student to practice. Hide the answers. The student can then check the answer to see if it is correct. It is also a good tool to make grade sheets .
Digital Cameras and Mobile Technologies - I would use this for many things. The student can do book reports. You would record the student or group of students doing their report. You can take pictures of the students doing specific lessons and make a slide show.
