My Wiki Page

Hey, y'all!

Robin here!  I currently teach fourth grade at H.A.Snyder Elementary School in Sayre, Pennsylvania.

Previously, I have used Google as a search engine, but was unaware of the many other aspects involved with the website such as gmail.

I was unable to set up a google email account due to not knowing my home RoadRunner account. I more than likely would not use the email account due to already having two.

I found it fairly easy to set up a delicious account.  I think this will be a great resource if used to share websites with other teachers in my own district and others.

Here is a link to our "delicious" account:

A microsoft publishing print publication:

munnopenhouse.pdf

I learned that placing my print publication in pdf allows me to access the document from any place that might not have publisher.

Microsoft publishing was reintroduced to me.  I had used it, but it had been quite some time ago.  I will use this more next year with my students for creating books, writing invitations to events, and more.....

Microsoft Excel:  I had never created a spreadsheet of my own before.  I am not sure if I would use them, but it is always interesting to learn new things.

I loved learning about how to insert graphics via paint!

Using graphics: cropping, resizing, etc.  Very COOL!

Numonic Tablet

At the beginning of this past school year, I received a projector, projection screen, and a numonic, or "Smart"  tablet for use in my classroom.  We received limited training on this new equipment, but fortunately I teach next to a computer savvy, savy, savi, savye, whatever, teacher named Greg.  The tablet resembles a small computer monitor.  You use a special pen that when activiated, writes directly on the screen of the tablet.  I use it for math class, to bring up pages from our reading series workbooks to complete with my students, and much more. My students do math problems on the screen along with corrections to DOL (Daily Oral Language).  Using this technology, we are able to project any DVD onto the screen and especially useful is United Streaming. A service offered through the Discovery Channel, United Streaming provides movies from many different genres in literature, science, and much more.  To observe how our district, and I use this technology, please visit the following site:  http://www.sayresd.org/snyder/snydertechnology.asp
