Assignment 2: Critique Athens Area School District Acceptable Use Policy.

                               Discuss with your team online to discuss treasure hunt objectives.

                 In today's society it is very important for our school districts to have their AUP in writing for parents and the community to be familiar with. The Athens Area School District has their policy in the parent handbook, so all parents and teachers are familiar with the policy. Our acceptable use policy states that it is for research and education by providing the access needed.  It also states that student usage will be monitored. Our policy states that our district makes every effort to monitor usage but will not make any guarantees. As a faculty we are told to be safe we should not use the computer at school for any personal use, because the computers are monitored.

 

Assignment 3: Develop a personal course of study for professional growth.

                              Design an Internet based classroom activity that incorporate 4 learning styles.

   I hope that whether it is a year or ten years from now I will continue to take graduate classes and try to improve myself as a teacher. To accomplish this I want to continue being a risk taker and someone who is willing to learn and try new teaching methods. A large part of this is to incorporate computers and technology into our curriculum more than I am doing now. After taking this class, our Kindergarten teachers have all set up a delicious account and have begun to use it for units we are teaching now and will be teaching next school year. I hope to continue being a life long learner, and not become a traditional teacher that isn't willing to change,  so that I am providing my students with the education they need to be successful.
