Today's letter of the Alphabet is the letter "M" for Mary!  For the letter "P" and the rest of the letters check out the virtual panda and ABC video at the bottom of the page.

Assignment 1:  Complete a web search to locate five quality resources on a given topic; cite resources using APA style guide.

I have searched for information regarding snow/snowmen/penguins.  I wanted to create an adorable,

yet meaningful "Winter Theme!"  This theme will contain all of the basic ways Kindergarten

is taught through fingerplays, movement, literature (literacy), math content and exploration of a variety

of materials resulting in a fun-filled, magical experience!  I found the sweetest information on the following sites:

 1.  (1998) "Activity Idea Place". Retrived on March 21, 2008 from

     www.123child.com

 2.  (2006) Beggs, K. "Mrs. Beggs Kindergarten". Retrived on March 21, 2008 from

      www.kindergarten2homestead.com

 3.  (2001) Fischer, D. "Mrs. Fischer's Kinder~Themes". Retrived on March 21, 2008 from

     www.kinderthemes.com

 4.  (2005) Smith, V. "KinderKorner". Retrived on March 21, 2008 from

     www.kinderkorner.com

 5.  (2006) Anderson, S. "Kindergarten Treehouse". Retrived on March 21, 2008 from

Assignment 2:  Critique district Acceptable Use Policy using given criteria.

Assignment 3:  Develop a personal course of study for professional growth.

I have always been driven to learn new and exciting ways to approach life.  As a teacher, I seek interesting ways to reach children that bring the best out in them.  I love involving them in creative lessons that intergrate their senses, friends and bring them joy!  I want my classroom activities to be fresh and meaningful.  I feel the internet has helped me with wonderful lessons; by viewing others' ideas and thus turning them into my own.  It allows opportunities for my children to interact with educational sites.  I see the future closing in the gap of distance in our world with lots of different "technology" avenues, and in order to keep up with everyday society, I will have to evolve with it.  For me, it is a challenging area in my life, but one that I must work on in order to keep fresh, aware, and the kind of person I strive to be.  I love working with young children.  In order to be the energetic, enthusiatic, and a sensationally-knowledgable teacher I NEED TO BE be for them, I must seek ways for my own individual growth.  Working with technological concepts is key for my future growth as a professional!

Assignment 4:  Create a del.icio.us account and a blog for fellow teachers as a resource.
