Lesson Plans
Mobile Technologies
I would use Turning Point to review for the Reading PSSAs. I can ask questions and see the responses from the entire class. I could quickly see the charts and find out how many students might be struggling with a specific skill. This review game would also help me know what material needs review. This would make learning interactive and fun!
Online Collaboration
I will use my Wiki for my teacher webpage. It is user friendly and a great way to give information to parents and other teachers. As the only Title 1 teacher in my building, I can collaborate with other teachers on curriculum and lesson plans. We can combine these ideas and edit the pages to create a resourse center for parents.
Pod casting
This is a good way for students to give "book talks" through podcasts. After reading a story, students can summarize and critique their favorite story. These podcasts can be viewed throughout the district for students to view. They can see what other students their age are reading and what book might be interesting to checkout from the library.
Semantic Network
I plan on using Kidspiration for the writing process. Together we can brainstorm ideas and then follow the prompts for the letter writing process using words and pictures. Students can then publish their work with ease!
Expert Systems
I plan on using nonsequenticial power point for review, as well as, for assessments. I will use the Rhyme Time Power Point to check ryhming and reading skills in First Grade. These can be fun activities for students to review skills previously taught. However by observing a student completing the power point, I can quickly assess if they understand the skill being taught.
